Global Blog Platform Kings!

We have Pixnet, Vocus, and other blog platforms in Taiwan. While developing this blog, I suddenly became curious about which blog platforms are popular in other countries. That's how this article came to be.

In the classic anime "Kochikame", there's an episode called "The King of Rankings", where Ryotsu plays a character who rates products. I don't intend to play such a role today; let's just start by looking at internet data.

Below are the top traffic platforms for each country I've compiled.

🧐 How to Dig for Treasures on These Platforms?

Now that you know the hot platforms in each country, how do you find quality content on them? Language barriers aside, by using Google's "Advanced Search Operators", you can uncover local hidden gems!

Just add site:platform_url before your keywords to tell Google: "I only want to search within this website".

Practical Examples:

If you want to find articles about "Software Architecture" on Taiwan's Vocus:

site:vocus.cc "Software Architecture"

If you want to see if there are discussions about "Software Architecture" on Cloudflare Pages (a static site host loved by many developers, including me):

site:pages.dev "Software Architecture"

🌍 Global Treasure Hunting Strategy

This trick works great for the international platforms we just introduced! Try these combinations:

  • 🇯🇵 Japan (Find Travel Diaries on Ameba)

    site:ameblo.jp "Taiwan Travel"

  • 🇰🇷 Korea (Find Makeup Recs on Naver Blog)

site:blog.naver.com "MOTD" (MOTD = Makeup of the Day)

  • 🇬🇧 UK (Find Tech Newsletters on Substack)

    site:substack.com "AI trends"

  • 🇳🇿 New Zealand (Find Digital Nomad Stories on Ghost)

site:ghost.io "digital nomad" (Note: Many Ghost sites use custom domains, but the ghost.io subdomain can still catch quite a few)

Master this trick, and the world's perspectives are at your fingertips! 🚀
